Car Maker Toyota Chooses PLEXIGLAS RESIST® for Signage in European Showrooms

PLEXIGLAS RESIST®: Exact coloring and weathering-resistance The prototypes of lighting elements, panels, and pylons have to comply with the design specifications, be particularly durable out of doors, and accurately reproduce the Toyota red by day and night. Degussa's PLEXIGLAS RESIST®, the most shatterproof of Degussa's weathering-resistant acrylic glasses, was an obvious choice for satisfying these requirements. Using color samples from Toyota, the PLEXIGLAS® specialists extruded a number of test pieces until the correct colorant mixture was found - and developed PLEXIGLAS RESIST® in a coloring that exactly matched the Toyota red. |

PLEXIGLAS® materials offer an additional plus point in UV protection of the colorants.

Europe-wide application After thorough testing, Toyota was evidently impressed by the Degussa product: "PLEXIGLAS RESIST® satisfies our requirements entirely. The material has excellent working properties, and our lighting elements show optimal illumination in brilliant Toyota red," according to brand manager Wendy O'Connor. The Japanese car maker's acceptance of the product has had a groundbreaking impact: In the future, any signage manufacturer in Europe will be able to purchase also PLEXIGLAS RESIST®, and install the signage elements for Toyota's new retailer brand identity. |
