The Exclusive Synthesis &Catalysts Business Unit adjusted capacity to treat exhaust air to reflect changes in the production portfolio at its multipurpose facility in Hanau, Germany.

The Advanced Fillers &Pigments Business Unit built a new central exhaust air stack for all gas black operations with integrated noise abatement at the Kalscheuren site in Germany.

The Feed Additives Business Unit installed exhaust air purification facilities at the new acrolein and methylmercaptan production plants in Antwerp, Belgium, and further reduced odors at the Wesseling site in Germany through processintegrated measures at the methionine plant. The site service unit in Wesseling has reduced the use of auxiliary materials such as flocculants and cut energy consumption by altering the flow of effluent streams fed to the wastewater treatment plant.
