Specific Environmental Indicators
The efficiency of environmental protection measures is reflected in the specific data, which show environmental indicators relative to output. Between 2002 and 2006 there was a clear reduction in the links between growth and consumption of resources, and between growth and environmental impact. In 2006, there was a further improvement in specific data relative to the previous year, with the exception of specific COD loads, which increased slightly. The 2 percentage point rise compared with 2005 was due to isolated production increases with a high wastewater impact.
