To come closer to the goal of zero accidents Degussa established the Degussa Safety Award in gold, silver and bronze. The award is presented annually as an incentive to help employees meet this ambitious target. The gold award goes to plants that do not report any accidents resulting in three or more days absence from work in fifteen years or that do not report a single day’s absence from work as a result of workrelated accidents for at least ten years. The different yardsticks reflect different international standards on reporting accidents.
