Wörth plant receives Degussa Gold Safety Award

A total of 20 years without any notifiable accidents – the Wörth am Main plant that is part of the Methacrylates Business Unit was rewarded for this tremendous achievement with the company’s highest safety accolade: the Degussa Gold Safety Award. Operations Manager Bernfried Kalthof attributes this success to the high safety standards, as well as to the teamwork in particular: “Working in groups, we take part in regular training sessions, inform each other about potential dangers and hold many discussions on occupational health and safety. The commitment of the employees is crucial to the proper functioning of the safety system.”

During the award ceremony at the plant, Dr. Rainer Kohlen, responsible for health and safety at the Corporate Center, also emphasized the importance of personal commitment. “In the last 20 years, you have all been outstanding in your fulfillment of the safety requirements and have contributed to the prevention of notifiable accidents during this period. This excellent result also serves an incentive for the future.”

The Wörth plant has been part of Degussa since 1986. At this site, 28 employees produce PLEXIGLAS^® corrugated sheets, textured panels, tubes and rods. These are used, for example, in patio and carport roofs and in protective glass and design applications.
